A collection of 121 glass plate negatives dating from 1885, by an unknown photographer. The images primarily focus on riverside buildings including houses, locks, bridges, churches and mills, and panoramic views in Oxfordshire and Berkshire, with a small number showing locations in Kent, Surrey, and Buckinghamshire. Locations covered include: Pangbourne, Goring, Ripley, Shiplake and Streatley.
Many of the images are illustrative/picturesque, and are generally of high quality, however the physical condition of a large number of the negatives is poor, with considerable peeling of emulsion.
A handlist is available.
The collection was acquired by the NMR in 1965.
