Description

The photograph is believed to have been taken shortly before being demolished in 1888 to make way for the General Post Office. A poster advertising a clearance sale at the hotel is just visible at the bottom left of the photograph. The photograph appears to have been taken at the same time as BL/O056, both shortly before demolition.
