Description

The photograph shows the buildings that occupied this site before The Tivoli Theatre of Varieties was built, opening in May 1890, subsequently being demolished itself 25 years later when the Strand was widened. On the far left is the Tivoli Restaurant at 68 Strand. The photograph is likely to have been taken shortly before work commenced as posters can been seen advertising the relocation of businesses.
