Description

An album of 51 pages containing pictures of Housesteads, South Shields and Vindolanda during excavation and the remains at Chesters, Poltross Burn, Stagshaw crossroads, Winshield Crag, Great Chesters and Banks Turret.

The negatives previously held in sleeves on some of the pages have been removed and placed in a red ringbinder.

The South Shields images cover an area excavated in 1975 in the south east corner of the fort and include many pictures of a room with a hypocaust.

There are also 3 photographs of illustrations from the book on the Wall by F Gerald Simpson
