50 photographic prints, 10 are albumen prints and 40 are photo-gravures, all except 6 are mounted, showing interiors, exteriors and general views of Tintern Abbey, its church, warming house, sacristy and monk's day room. They show the abbey before and after excavations carried out around 1906/7. Numbers FL01503/001/01 - 034/34 make up the original set of mounted prints, mostly dated circa 1906, FL01503/035/35 - 050/50 are additions to the box. These include late 19th century photographs by Preston and R. Tudor Williams, revealing pre-20th century clearing of the presbytery, plus one post-1913 Office of Works photograph of the south transept.
