Description
This file (actually, a box) contains 9 mounted prints showing no.27 Berkeley Square, Westminster, London taken in 1906. Eight of the images are interiors showing various rooms and their decoration and furnishings, and one is an exterior.
Accompanying the prints is the leather portfolio in which they were originally housed. It bears the monogram 'LM' of Ludwig Mond, the original owner of the house and the prints.
These prints are part of BL19730/001-031. Negatives of BL19730/002, 007, 008, 012 have been scanned. The print of the dining room corresponds to BL19730/007.
Archival History
The prints were commissioned by Sir Robert Ludwig Mond who lived at 27 Berkeley Square between 1901-8. The prints have Bedford Lemere original numbers annotated on the bottom right hand corner of the mounts. They are 19730/2, 3, 7, 9, 14, 17, 18, 20, 23.
The prints were purchased by the NMR in 2008.
