Delivering Co-ordinated Support for Communities Considering Asset Transfer
This report examines how communities seeking to take on ownership of former publicly owned historic assets can be better informed and supported. Some key findings were that:
- Although there is existing guidance, this needs to be updated and better signposted
- The risk environment for communities has changed over the last 10 years which must be taken into account
- There needs to be better support for communities after transfer has taken place
Aspinal Verdi Limited carried out the research on behalf of Historic England, Arts Council England, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Big Lottery Fund, Locality and Power to Change.
