2-4 Beauford Square, Bath, Bath and North East Somerset
The terraces in Bath were all designed to look the same from the front but behind the facades were sometimes different. This terrace still looks as it did when designed but, in fact, number 5 has been rebuilt behind the original frontage. Numbers 2, 3 and 4 are complete modern rebuilds but with a frontage in exact replica of Number 5. Bath was very badly bombed during WW2 in one of the 'Baedeker' raids, which killed 417 people across the city. These raids targeted major tourist towns chosen from a Baedeker travel guide.
