Conjuror's Lodge, Clements Lane, Portland, Dorset
This workshop is reputed to have been used during the 19th century as a chapel by a breakaway Dissenting religious sect. This explains its unusual name, giving an insight into what other people thought of the group. It is a rare surviving example of this building type on Portland. It is important in tracing the development of nonconformity which was an important feature in the island's social history.
