HMS Warspite, Prussia Cove, Cornwall
This is HMS WARSPITE at Prussia Cove in Cornwall. Warspite was a battleship. It waslaunched in 1913 and saw action with the Royal Navy at the Battle of Jutland in 1916. During the second world war she saw service off Norway, Italy, in the Indian Ocean, Sicily and Normandy. The ship had steering problems almost from the outset. It was sold for scrap in 1947. Photographed here in May 1947, it is seen here having run aground during a storm. It was on its way to be broken up. More aerial photographs.
