Hyde Park Barracks, Westminster, Greater London

This photograph had the caption 'After a field day'. The phrase 'field day' was originally a military one and meant, as here, a day spent on manoeuvers (training) out in a field. It was more relaxed than normal training, as is possibly suggested by the lack of formal uniform on these soldiers.
