Kenilworth Castle, Kenilworth, Warwickshire
A view of the inner court of Kenilworth Castle, looking past the Keep and on towards Leicester's Building. Kenilworth Castle was begun in the 12th century and is a spectacular example of a large enclosure castle and later Royal residence. Leicester's Building was added in the 16th century as high-status accommodation for visitors to the castle. The castle was already a tourist attraction at this time with benches provided. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2013).
