Methodist Free Church and Sunday School, Albert Terrace, Lostwithiel, Cornwall

This Methodist Free Church and the Sunday School attached to it are dated 1900. Methodist churches are common in mining areas as many miners were Methodists. Sunday schools were originally provided for children who had to go to work from a young age. Sunday was the only day they had free to go to school. The education would mainly have been learning to read, write and do simple maths. The children would also have learned about religion and bible stories.
