An aerial view of Morecambe showing the promenade and beach area with the town behind. The Midland Hotel, built in 1933, can be seen at the end of the Stone Jetty. This jetty was originally one side of the harbour which was built around 1853. It became part of the promenade and was rebuilt and extended during 1994/95 as part of some coastal defence work to combine a series of circular pavement features with games for people of all ages.
