Passengers wait to board a number 47 tram as it travels up New Road (Madeira Walk), a serpentine road lined with impressive rock gardens. The route was operated by the Isle of Thanet Electric Tramways & Lighting Co Ltd which ran trams between Westbrook, Broadstairs and Ramsgate from 1901-1937.
