Old Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

This hospital was largely rebuilt in 1866, though a substantial part of the building dates back to 1740. It was built from John Addenbrooke's bequest in 1719. He gave £4,500 to provide a hospital for the poor people of Cambridge. John Addenbrooke was himself a doctor. The building is an important example of mid 19th century hospital planning.
