The Old Temple Meads Railway Station in Bristol was built in 1839-41 by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Themes

The Bristol terminus of the new Great Western Railway, completed in 1840, was designed by I K Brunel in a 15th-century style: note the flat arches and hammer beam roof. These original platforms are no longer seen by the travelling public who use the 1865/1876 'joint' station. Parts of the GWR are being considered for World Heritage Site status.
