Women packing food parcels for prisoners of war at the Australian Red Cross premises. The Australian Red Cross was established in 1914, nine days after the start of World War I. It was started by Lady Helen Munro Ferguson, when she formed a branch of the British Red Cross. It is not clear if the women shown were British or Australians in Britain or if the food parcels were for Australian prisoners of war.
