Pendennis Castle at night, Falmouth, Cornwall

The keep (seen here) is part of the original part of the Tudor fort and was built in circa 1540 to defend the south coast of England. The keep itself consists of a number of gun platforms for the protection of Falmouth Harbour, along with governor's quarters. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010). Find out more.
