Post Office and cottages, Tinwell, Rutland
This building was originally the village forge. It was built in 1848. At this time most villages had their own blacksmiths shop and forge. Before the mass production of goods and the introduction of the motor cars there were always tools to be resharpened and horses to be reshod (fitted with new horse shoes). The entrance to this forge even has a horseshoe shape carved over it.
