Red Lion Inn, Southampton, Southampton
This is a late 15th/early 16th century timber framed house. The frontage is three storeys of 20th century sham timber framing but behind this the house is well preserved. Below the house is a medieval vault (cellar). This is said to be the "Court room" where the intending assassins of Henry V, Lord Scrops of Masham, Sir Thomas Grey and the Earl of Cambridge were tried in 1415. This was when Henry V was in Southampton preparing to sail to France for the battles of Harfleur and Agincourt.
