Sebastopol Gun, The Headland, Bath Terrace, Hartlepool
A field gun made from gun metal in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is mounted on a 2 wheeled gun carriage attached to 2 circular concrete steps. The gun was captured from the Russian army at the siege of Sebastopol in 1854-56 during the Crimean War. It was presented to Hartlepool Borough Council by Lord Panmure in 1857.
