Silsoe, Bedfordshire
This vertical aerial photograph shows the village of Silsoe in 1973. A quarry can clearly be seen on the left (West). The main street runs through from North to South and was part of the A6 at this time. The Wrest Park estate can be seen to the East of the village in the bottom right of the image. The driveway to the house begins in the village at the crossroads near the church. The first section is lined with trees and passes 2 entrance lodges before continuing as a wider drive, still lined with trees on each side. The house had 2 entrance drives originally and the start of the second one can be seen immediately opposite the house, leading North
