Southville Community Centre, Beauley Road, Southville, Bristol
Ashton Park Board school was built in 1895 to a design by Edward Gabriel. It was built for Bristol School Board. There were separate entrances marked BOY and GIRL . After the Education Act of 1870 school boards were set up all over England. They built many schools and often adopted a style that was specific to that particular board. This school was possibly the first one built in the Bristol Board style which had classrooms round a central hall. It is now community centre.
