St Mary's Guildhall, High Street, Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This stone building is believed to date from c1157-1180 and was possibly once the town house of Henry II. The building is L-shaped in plan. It is built around a courtyard which is accessed via an archway. It was used as a guildhall from 1251 to 1547. It was then remodelled in the early 17th century for use as a school. Part of the building housed a maltings from the 15th century until 1981. The south range was added in 1895 and the whole complex was restored between 1984-6.
