The design of this Asda store differs greatly from the "belltower and brick" style of the vast majority of supermarkets that Laing had built previously. The building is more like an aircraft hanger, or factory with its exposed steel frame, curved aluminium roof and the air ducting and other services all on show. Many of the out of town stores began to be built in this manner.
