The Senate House, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

The Senate House was constructed between 1722 and 1730 by James Gibbs in a neo-classical style. It is used mainly for degree ceremonies and formerly for meetings of the Council of the Senate. There are two full length marble statues in this building dedicated to Cambridge's former pupils, the 6th Duke of Somerset, Charles Seymour and the former prime minister William Pitt the younger.
