Tithe Barn, Easington, East Riding of Yorkshire
A threshing barn with a horse mill adjoining. The barn dates back to the 16th century although the walls are later. It is timber framed with brick walls and a thatched roof. It has 2 large wagon entrances. The 19th century circular building housing the horse mill is built from brick with a pantile roof. The horse would walk round in a circle turning a wheel or gin that had a belt attached. The belt would turn farm machinery such as a threshing machine.
