Turkey Mill, Keighley West Yorkshire
This mill was established in 1797 as a water-powered cotton spinning mill. The American Civil War of 1861-65 caused an interruption to the supply of raw materials. Many cotton mills were forced to either import from elsewhere, change the type of goods they produced or close. This mill became a paper production site in the early 19th century. It made paper that was used to produce Indian rupees. The mill ceased production in 1932. It had various uses including as a discotheque. After being derelict for some time it was converted into flats.
