Union Society Building, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

The Union Society Building was constructed in 1866 by Alfred Waterhouse. The Cambridge Union Society is a debating society. It is the largest society at the University of Cambridge. The society was founded in 1815. Waterhouse was a leading Victorian architect. He designed many great buildings such as the Natural History Museum and Manchester Town Hall. He won many awards and was president of the Royal Institute British Architects (RIBA) from 1888-1891.
