Weaver Hall, Northwich, Cheshire
This building was originally the Northwich Union Workhouse. It was built in 1837-9 by George Latham, using the '200 pauper' model. It was built as result of the 1834 Poor Law Act. It had various additions made to it. From 1904 any children born there had 160 London Road (not Union Workhouse) put on their birth certificates. This was to try and prevent prejudice against them in later life. The building has since been an old people's hospital and a Salt Museum.
